Situation

Hathersage is situated in the Hope Valley in the heart of the Peak District National Park which in turn is situated in the heart of England, just 9 miles from the city of Sheffield.

Hathersage has an open air, heated swimming pool, connections with Emily Bronte (Jane Eyre was set in Hathersage), three walking / climbing shops, lots of excellent local dining, five tea rooms, a bowling green, well dressing (usually the first week in July), walks to suit all levels and interests with variations in scene as Hathersage is on the border of the Dark Peak and the White peak. The famous Stanage Edge, a paradise for climbers is just behind Hathersage and Froggatt Edge can be seen from the conservatory. There is also three churches (one has the grave of Little John of Robin Hood fame), and two banks both of which have cash machines.

Castleton with its famous caverns is just 6 miles away, Bakewell, the home of the Bakewell Pudding, is close by as is Chatsworth House, "The Palace of the Peak", and the Halls of Haddon and Hardwick, Lime Park is also a short drive away.
